various modalities to

expository essays,
persuasive essays, speech
writing. Small groups will
emphasize strong
sentence/paragraph writing,
grammar, inference (reading),
collaboration on written work,
peer editing/tangible feedback.
Finally to foster communication
skills, students will give small
group presentations and partake
in discussion.

will begin working on
the fundamentals of
high school academic
writing to include: MLA
format, citing sources,
providing analysis and
organizing writing.

Advanced students will
also grow their
vocabulary through
weekly AP style journal
entries.
